If a certain amount is available for gifts, it is advisable for the company to choose an option that can be implemented at a lower tax rate, thus increasing the value for the employee.
\u201eIn principle, a gift is income from employment<\/em><\/strong> and this is up to double the cost of the gift<\/strong><\/em> - points out Andrea Kocziha, tax partner at Moore Hungary. However, if the gift can be classified as a certain defined benefits<\/strong> the value of the gift, the payer is only liable for 35,99 per cent<\/strong> aggregated tax and contribution payments obligation<\/strong> generated by<\/em>.\u201d
Some defined benefits are a gift of small value<\/strong> for employees and their dependants. A gift of small value the person of<\/strong>once a year, up to 10 percent of the minimum wage<\/strong> (HUF 16.740). A low-value gift may be a product, service or voucher redeemable for such products or services, provided that it can only be used for a specific product or service and cannot be redeemed for money.
